Donating goods and services

We are extremely grateful to the many generous individuals and organisations who kindly offer goods and services, which enable us to offer the best possible support for the homeless and most vulnerable people we work with.

We are in particular need of the following items in good condition especially for men:

    • Socks and underwear
    • Sweaters
    • Trainers
    • Jackets
    • We aim to offer clean, warm and comfortable clothing to our clients
    • Sleeping bags
    • Toiletries and hygiene products: toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap and shampoo are particularly useful
    • Raffle prizes for our fundraising events are extremely welcome

If you are thinking of buying goods specifically to donate to the St Peter’s Project, please do consider making a donation of funds for the following reasons:

  • we are often able to buy goods at lower prices due to purchasing in bulk
  • we can also claim Gift Aid on financial donations from taxpayers
  • for certain kinds of goods, we must comply with health and safety requirements

Food

We are always pleased to receive donations in food, especially of tinned and dried food, for people in need. For the Thursday Supper Club, we like to have donations of olive oil and pasta.

If you would like to donate fresh food, please ring us in advance as we must comply with health and hygiene regulation.

Other items

Furniture, bedding, homeware, office equipment including stationery, IT equipment, new or in good condition are much appreciated.

Please call us first to discuss suitability and collection of these items.

Services

If you work for a company or organisation that would like to offer a service for St Peter’s Project or at one of our fundraising events, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us.

GIFT AID

Add 25p to every that you give to St Peter’s Project at no cost to yourself.

Gift Aid is a Government scheme that allows any charity, like St. Peter’s Italian Church, to reclaim the tax that you have paid on your donation.

The amount that you give will be completely confidential and you don’t have to tell how much you earn or give any other personal details.

All you have to do is to fill in a Gift Aid form. This requires you to give your name, your address and the date.

The person who signs the cheque has to be the same person who signs the Gift Aid declaration, the donation has to come from a personal account not a business one.
